Palo Alto Networks has completed its acquisition of CyberArk, one of the largest deals in cybersecurity history, adding identity security as a third core pillar alongside its existing Network Security and Security Operations platforms. The move reflects the growing role identity plays in modern attacks, with machine identities now vastly outnumbering human ones across most organisations, and credential abuse remaining one of the most common routes attackers use to gain a foothold.
CyberArk’s identity security capabilities will continue to be available as a standalone platform while Palo Alto Networks integrates them into its Cortex and Strata platforms, extending privileged access controls to human, machine and AI-driven identities across hybrid cloud environments.
